Qibla Direction from Your Location

Choose your city or let the site find your location to calculate the Qibla angle towards the Kaaba. On a phone you can switch on the compass.

Important: the Qibla angle is calculated mathematically with precision, but a phone compass is affected by nearby metal and devices and can drift by several degrees; it does not work on a computer. The result is a guide: for worship, confirm the Qibla direction in the mosque or from a trusted source in your country. Your location is not sent to any server; the calculation runs in your browser.

How is the Qibla calculated?

The Qibla is the shortest direction on the surface of the globe from your location to the Kaaba, known as the great circle. We calculate the angle from north, clockwise; for example, the Qibla from Rabat is about 95°, roughly east and slightly south.

To check: stand facing the direction the needle points to, then compare it with the mihrab of the nearest mosque.

More tools: Hijri calendar, Ramadan countdown.

About accuracy: dates follow the Umm al-Qura calendar. The start of a month may differ by one day from the official announcement in your country, which is based on moon sighting. You can adjust the day (±1) above, and you can read how we calculate.
