hijriGO needs no account and no registration. Its tools are built to work inside your browser as far as possible, and this page explains exactly what happens to your data.

The tools: your dates are not sent to us

The dates you enter in the converter, the age calculator, the date-difference tool and “My events” are processed inside your browser and are not sent to a server. The calendar file (ICS) is also created in your browser.

Cookies and browser storage

The site itself sets no cookies of its own. It only uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) to keep two things:

mz_adj: the “Adjust the day” setting (plus or minus one day) that you choose.
hg_lang: the language you pick yourself from the language menu.

These values stay on your device and we cannot read them from outside it; you can delete them by clearing the site's data in your browser. On a first visit the language is chosen from your browser's language settings, never from your location. Your host or a security service may use strictly technical cookies of its own (see “Technical connection data” below).

Location

The Qibla page asks for your location only when you press the locate button. The direction is calculated in your browser and your location is not sent to us.

A copied result link contains the date (and the event title, if you typed one) so that it works for the person you share it with. Do not put sensitive information in a title.

Technical connection data

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes technical data about each request (such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time) to deliver the site, keep it secure and limit abuse. We do not use these logs to build profiles of visitors.

Email messages

When you write to contact@hijrigo.com we receive your email address and the content of your message. Messages reach us through Cloudflare's email forwarding service into a mailbox managed by the site owner. We use them only to reply to you and handle your request, and we do not publish or sell them. We keep them for as long as needed to answer and follow up, then delete them.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

The site does not show any ads at the moment and does not load any advertising technology. We may switch on Google AdSense later to cover running costs; before we do, we will update this page to describe what changes.

When ads are on: Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site or other websites, which lets Google and its partners show you ads based on your visits to other sites on the internet. To manage your ad preferences you can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, visit aboutads.info, or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.com.

In regions where the law requires consent before cookies or personal data are used for ads (such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we will not switch ads on before providing a consent message through a consent management platform certified by Google, and advertising technology will not load before you consent where consent is required.

Analytics

The site does not currently use any third-party analytics tool. If we add one, we will name it here, with its purpose, before switching it on.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. The only personal data we keep is the contact messages you send yourself; to have yours deleted, contact us.

Children

The site is general-purpose and not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data about them.
